Introduction
The Earth's layers consists of five different layers including the stratosphere, troposphere, crust, mantle and the core. Among these five layers, the crust is the thinnest layer of the Earth, it occupies less than 1% of the Earth's volume (Crust Geology. Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, 15 May 2013.). It is located on top of the mantle and at the bottom of the ocean of gas, called troposphere; there are wide range of temperatures and is broken into different plates. The temperature of the crust ranges from air temperature at the top and up to 870 degrees Celsius at the deepest part of the crust (The Crust. Oregonstate).
